Accessibility Settings
Buddzy wants everyone to enjoy the Galaxy, regardless of ability or preference:
- Reduced motion — Minimizes orbital movement and animation effects for users sensitive to motion
- High contrast — Boosts the visual contrast of planets, badges, and indicators against the Galaxy background
- Alternative list view — Replaces the visual Galaxy with a clean, scrollable list of friends. All the same data and actions, just in a traditional format
- Larger touch targets — Increases the tap area around planets and buttons for easier interaction
The alternative list view is worth highlighting. If the 3D Galaxy is not your thing — whether for accessibility reasons, personal preference, or device limitations — the list view gives you everything the Galaxy offers in a straightforward layout. You do not lose any functionality.
Pro Tips
- Start with everything on High and only dial back if you notice performance issues. No point in limiting yourself if your phone can handle it
- If you get motion sickness from the orbital animations, try reduced motion first before switching to list view. It might be enough
- Performance mode is great for quick sessions where you just want to give Stars and check Streaks without waiting for visual effects
- High contrast mode actually looks pretty cool — some users keep it on by choice, not necessity
