Targeting Friends

Choose who takes your Lore Quiz with Specific Friends or All Friends targeting. Learn which mode works best for each situation.

When you publish a Lore Quiz, you get to decide who can take it. This is not just a small detail — it fundamentally changes the kind of quiz you should build and the experience your friends will have. Buddzy gives you two targeting modes, and picking the right one makes all the difference.

The Two Modes

Here is what you are working with:

  • Specific Friends — You handpick exactly which friends can see and take your quiz. The quiz only appears for the people you select, and nobody else can access it.

  • All Friends — Your quiz goes live for every friend in your Galaxy. Anyone connected to you can jump in, take it, and land on the leaderboard.

When to Use Specific Friends

This mode is built for intimate quizzes. The kind of questions you would only ask people who have been around for the real moments. Think Memory Lane questions about a specific trip you took together, or deep-cut questions about inside jokes that only your inner circle would understand.

Specific Friends targeting works best when:

  • Your questions reference shared history or private memories
  • You want to test how well your close friends really know you
  • The quiz contains questions that would not make sense to casual friends
  • You are creating a quiz about a specific era, event, or context in your life

When to Use All Friends

This mode turns your quiz into a vibe check competition. Everyone gets a shot, and the leaderboard becomes a real battlefield. Broader questions work better here because you want the full range of scores — from friends who nail it to friends who realize they have a lot to learn.

All Friends targeting works best when:

  • Your questions are about general preferences, opinions, and personality patterns
  • You want to see how you are perceived across your entire social circle
  • You are going for maximum participation and a competitive leaderboard
  • The quiz is more about your vibe and less about specific memories

How It Works

You choose your targeting mode during the creation process, before you publish. Once set, the targeting is locked, so think about your audience before you start writing questions.

Pro Tips

  • Build the quiz with your target audience in mind from the start — do not write intimate questions for an "All Friends" quiz
  • Specific Friends quizzes tend to have higher average scores because the audience is curated
  • All Friends quizzes generate bigger leaderboards and more competitive energy
  • You can create multiple quizzes with different targeting — one for your inner circle, one for everyone
  • Memory Lane format pairs perfectly with Specific Friends since photos require shared context

Good to Know

  • Both modes cost the same 5 Orbs
  • Both generate Aura passively regardless of targeting
  • Participants can only see the leaderboard for quizzes they have access to
