Streak safety alerts are push notifications that Buddzy sends at critical hours when one of your active Streaks is in danger of breaking. They're your early warning system — a friendly nudge that says "hey, this Streak is about to die if you don't act."
The alerts are timed strategically throughout the day to give you multiple chances to save your Streak before midnight hits:
- Afternoon reminder — A gentle heads-up that you still have time
- Evening alert — Things are getting serious, the clock is ticking
- Critical warning — This is your last chance, act now or lose it
What Triggers Them
A Streak safety alert gets triggered when the system detects that the daily mutual Star exchange hasn't been completed yet. Specifically:
- You haven't sent a Star to your Streak partner today
- Your partner hasn't sent you a Star yet (you'll be nudged to remind them)
- The day is running out and the exchange is incomplete on either side
The alerts get more urgent as the deadline approaches. Early in the day, you might not get one at all because there's plenty of time. But as the hours pass and the Streak remains unfulfilled, the warnings ramp up.

Streak safety alerts respect your notification preferences. If you've muted a specific friend's notifications, you'll still receive Streak alerts for that friend because Streak preservation is treated as a critical gameplay function. Your Streaks are too important to let silence kill them.
