Buddzy can send you a lot of notifications — Stars received, Streak reminders, Mission completions, Current Orbit updates, and more. But you're in full control of which ones actually buzz your phone. The notification preferences screen lets you dial things in so you only hear about what matters to you.
How It Works
Here's how to manage your notification preferences:
- Open Settings — Tap the gear icon in the bottom-right.
- Tap Notifications — This opens the full notification control panel.
- Toggle individual categories — Turn each notification type on or off based on your preferences.
- Save your changes — Your preferences take effect immediately.
What You Can Control
Buddzy gives you granular control over several notification categories:
- Stars — Get notified when someone sends you Stars. Great for staying in the loop, but can get noisy if you have a lot of active friends.
- Streaks — Safety alerts when a Streak is about to expire. This one's clutch — turning it off means you might accidentally break a Streak.
- Missions — Alerts about new daily Missions and completed ones. Helpful for staying on top of your Star income.
- orbits — Updates about Current Orbit standings, rank changes, and results. Turn this on during competitive weeks.
- Milestones — Notifications when you hit achievements or unlock new levels. The feel-good alerts.
- Friend Activity — Alerts when friends join, level up, or hit milestones. Nice for staying connected.
Finding Your Sweet Spot
Everyone's notification tolerance is different. Here are some common setups:
- Competitive player — Keep Streaks, orbits, and Missions on. Turn off Stars if the volume is too high.
- Casual player — Keep Streaks on (so you don't lose them), and maybe Milestones for the dopamine hits. Turn off everything else.
- Social butterfly — Keep everything on. You want to know every time someone interacts with you.
Pro Tips
- Never turn off Streak notifications unless you're absolutely confident you'll remember on your own. A broken Streak is a painful loss.
- Adjust your preferences after your first week. By then you'll know which notifications are helpful and which are just noise.
- If a specific friend is sending too many notifications, you can mute notifications per friend without turning off the whole category.
- Check your phone's OS-level notification settings too. If you've muted Buddzy at the system level, in-app toggles won't matter.
