Soft Gates are social milestones built into Buddzy that reward you for growing your friend network naturally. There are four of them, each tied to a different friendship goal. Once you unlock a gate, it stays unlocked forever, even if your friend count drops later.
The Four Gates
Here is what each gate requires and what you get:
Full Galaxy — Have 10 reciprocal friends. This is the big one. When you hit it, you earn 100 Aura and 20 Orbs. It signals that you have built a real, active network on Buddzy.
Constellation — Maintain 3 active Streaks at the same time. Rewards you with 75 Aura and 15 Orbs. This one proves you are not just adding friends but actually engaging with them consistently.
Budd Hunt — Have 5 reciprocal friends. This unlocks access to the Budd mascot easter egg, a hidden in-app feature where you can earn up to 2 Orbs per day by finding Budd. A fun little bonus for hitting an early milestone.
Weekly Recap — Have 3 reciprocal friends. This unlocks the Sunday weekly stats notification that summarizes your Stars given, Stars received, and active Streaks. A simple but useful feature for keeping track of your week.
Permanently Unlocked
This is the key detail. Once you cross a gate's threshold, you never lose it. If you unlock Full Galaxy with 10 reciprocal friends and later drop to 8, you still keep the rewards and the unlocked status. Gates only check once, and then they are yours.
Where to See Your Progress
All four Soft Gates are displayed as a 2x2 grid in the Hub's Grow tab, under "Things to Unlock". Once you have unlocked all four, a dismiss button retires the section for good. Each gate shows your current progress toward the requirement, whether it is locked or unlocked, and the rewards you earned or will earn. It gives you a clear visual roadmap for what to work toward next.
