This is the single most important thing to understand about Missions, and the number one mistake new players make. Completing a Mission does not give you the reward. You have to claim it. If you skip the Claim step, your reward vanishes at the next reset and it is gone for good. Forever.
How It Works
The Mission reward process has two distinct phases:
- Completion — You do the task the Mission requires. The Missions tab updates to show the task is done
- Claiming — You tap the Claim button to actually credit the reward to your account
These are two separate actions and both must happen before midnight in your local time zone. Completion without claiming equals zero reward. The app does not auto-collect, does not remind you with a popup, does not save it for later. Rewards are never auto-granted. If you do not tap Claim, you get nothing — including the 10 Aura that every Mission awards.
Why This Catches People Off Guard
Here is the typical scenario. You complete a Mission while playing the app, feel good about it, then close the app and go about your day. When you come back tomorrow, the Missions have reset and your unclaimed reward from yesterday is just gone. No notification, no grace period, no undo button.
It feels brutal the first time it happens, but the system is designed this way intentionally. The Claim button exists to make reward collection a deliberate, conscious action rather than something that happens in the background. Buddzy wants you to feel the reward.
The 24-Hour Deadline
Your claiming window is tied directly to the Mission reset timer. When the reset hits at midnight in your local time zone, everything from the previous cycle disappears. This includes:
- Incomplete Missions
- Completed but unclaimed Missions
- Any rewards attached to those Missions
There is no buffer period. There is no "claim within 1 hour of reset" grace window. The cutoff is hard and absolute.
Pro Tips
- Claim the second you see the completion — Build this as a reflex, not something you do later
- Do a "Mission check" before closing the app every time to catch any unclaimed rewards
- Set a reminder 30-60 minutes before midnight as a safety net
- If you complete a Mission late at night, claim it right then, not in the morning — the reset happens at midnight
Good to Know
This claiming mechanic is consistent across Buddzy. The Daily Chest works the same way — you have to open it to get the rewards. Think of it as Buddzy's philosophy: nothing valuable should happen without you being present for it. It keeps you engaged and makes every reward feel earned, not automatic.
