Not all Missions demand the same level of effort. Some practically complete themselves while you are just vibing in the app, while others require you to go out of your way. Knowing the difference between passive and active Missions is a legit time-saver.
How It Works
Missions fall into two broad categories based on effort:
Passive Missions are tasks you might complete without even trying. If the Mission says "Give Stars to a friend" and you were already planning to give Stars today, congratulations — the Mission completes itself as part of your normal routine. You just need to remember to claim afterward.
Common passive Missions include:
- Giving Stars to friends (something you do daily anyway)
- Tapping the Streak button to maintain an existing Streak you already have going
Active Missions require deliberate, specific actions that you probably would not do otherwise. These are the ones that pull you out of your normal flow and ask you to do something extra.
Common active Missions include:
- Sharing content to your social media stories
- Sending an invitation to bring someone new into Buddzy
Why This Distinction Matters
When you check your two daily Missions, the first thing you should ask yourself is: "Would I be doing this anyway?" If the answer is yes, that Mission is essentially free. Zero extra effort, full reward. Those are the golden Missions.
Active Missions are not bad by any means. They just require a conscious decision about whether the reward justifies the effort. A 5-Star active Mission is probably worth the 10 minutes. A 2-Star active Mission that requires coordinating with a friend? Maybe not.
Pro Tips
- Always complete passive Missions first — They are free Stars sitting on the table
- Layer passive Missions into your normal app routine so they do not feel like extra work
- For active Missions, read the requirement fully before deciding if it is worth doing
- Sharing Missions are active but usually quick — a story post takes 30 seconds
- Invitation Missions are quick to fire off and low effort
Good to Know
The split between passive and active is roughly even, but you will notice patterns over time. Some days both Missions align perfectly with what you were going to do anyway, and it feels like free money. Other days, both require deliberate effort. The key is checking early in the day so you can weave the active ones into your natural app time instead of scrambling at the last minute.
On the best days, you will complete both Missions without even realizing it. That is the dream scenario and it happens more often than you think.
