So you want to start a Streak with one of your friends? Great choice. Streaks are one of the most rewarding features in Buddzy, but you need to understand exactly how they kick off because there is a specific process that both sides have to follow. No shortcuts, no workarounds. Both of you have to show up from day one.
Day 1 is Everything
Here is how it works. On the very first day, both you and your friend must each tap the dedicated Streak button on the other person's profile. This is a specific button separate from regular Star giving. Not just you tapping their button. Not just them tapping yours. Both of you need to use the Streak button on that same calendar day. This is Day 1, the foundation of your Streak. If only one person taps the button on this day, no Streak begins. Period.
When Does the Counter Start?
This is where people sometimes get confused. Day 1 is the setup day where both of you tap the Streak button. The actual Streak counter starts at 1 on Day 2, once you have both successfully tapped the Streak button again on the second consecutive day. So when you see a Streak count of 1, that means you have completed two full days of mutual exchange. The counter reflects the number of days your unbroken chain has been alive after that initial day.
Step by Step
First, open up your Galaxy or your friend list and navigate to the friend you want to start a Streak with. Tap the dedicated Streak button on their profile. Then, and this is the important part, reach out to them and let them know you want to build a Streak together. A quick message saying "hey, tap the Streak button on my profile so we can start a Streak" goes a long way. Once they tap the Streak button on your profile on the same day, you have successfully completed Day 1.
The Bilateral Design
Buddzy designed Streaks to be bilateral on purpose. This is not a feature where one person can do all the heavy lifting. Both friends must actively tap the Streak button on each other's profile every single day for the Streak to exist. Regular star-giving does not count. This means that starting a Streak is really a mutual commitment. You are both agreeing to show up for each other daily. It is a two-way street, and that is what makes it meaningful.
Tips for a Strong Start
Before you start a Streak, make sure your friend is actually active on Buddzy and willing to commit to tapping the Streak button daily. There is nothing worse than tapping the Streak button on Day 1 only to have your friend forget to tap theirs. Communication is key. Agree on a time that works for both of you, set your notifications up, and get ready to build something awesome together. The first few days are the hardest, but once you build the habit, it becomes second nature.
