Buddzy is built around real friendships, so naturally you need some friends in the app to get the full experience going. The good news? Adding people is fast, and you've got multiple ways to do it. Whether your friends are already on Buddzy or you need to recruit them, there's a method that works.
How It Works
There are four ways to add friends on Buddzy:
1. Contacts Import
This is the fastest method if your friends are already using the app. Grant Buddzy access to your phone contacts and it'll instantly find matches. Your contact data gets hashed locally on your device for privacy — nothing raw ever leaves your phone. Tap on any match to add them as a friend.
2. Referral Link
Everyone gets a unique referral link. Share it through any messaging app, text, or social platform. When someone taps the link and creates their Buddzy account, you're automatically connected. Bonus: you might earn Orbs for successful referrals.
3. QR Code
Every Buddzy user has a personal QR code in their profile. If you're hanging out with someone in person, just pull up your code and have them scan it (or scan theirs). Instant friend connection, zero typing.
4. Username Search
Know someone's exact Buddzy username? Search for them directly in the add friends section. Type in their handle and send a friend request. Simple and targeted.
Building Your Galaxy
Every friend you add becomes a planet in your Galaxy. The more friends you have, the more vibrant and active your Galaxy becomes. More friends also means:
- More Streaks to maintain and earn bonuses from.
- More competitive leaderboards in the Current Orbit.
- Bigger Daily Chest rewards since chest payouts scale with mutual friend count.
- More Stars flowing in and out of your orbit.
Pro Tips
- Start with contacts import. It's the quickest way to find your people who are already on Buddzy.
- Drop your referral link in your close friends' group chat. Buddzy hits different when your whole crew is playing.
- Send a Star to every new friend immediately. It signals you're active and could spark your first Streak.
- Check contacts import again periodically. New friends might have joined since your last scan.
Good to Know
Friend connections in Buddzy are mutual — both people need to accept. There's no "following" or one-sided connections. When you add someone, you're both committing to the friendship. That's what makes it real.
