If removing a friend is a polite goodbye, blocking is a full blackout. When you block someone on Buddzy, they don't just leave your friend list — they vanish from your entire Buddzy experience. It's the strongest action you can take, and it's there for your safety and peace of mind.
How It Works
To block someone:
- Tap on their planet in your Galaxy or find their name in the app.
- Open their profile.
- Select the block option.
- Confirm the action.
Once you block someone, the effects are immediate and total.
What Happens When You Block
Blocking is a complete social blackout. Here's the full breakdown:
- They disappear from your Galaxy — Their planet is gone. No trace of them in your orbit.
- You disappear from their Galaxy — Same deal on their end. Your planet vanishes from their view.
- All Streaks break — Any active Streak between you two is permanently broken.
- Leaderboard removal — They won't appear on any of your leaderboards, and you won't show on theirs.
- No interactions possible — They can't send you Stars, Bud Bombs, Challenge invites, or anything else. Complete radio silence.
- They can't find you — Username search, contacts import, QR codes — nothing works. You're invisible to them.
- No notification sent — The blocked person doesn't receive any alert. They'll just gradually notice you're gone.
Blocking vs. Removing
The key difference is visibility and access:
- Removing a friend disconnects you but doesn't prevent them from finding you again. They could re-add you through username search or other methods.
- Blocking removes and prevents. They literally cannot interact with or find your account in any way.
If someone is just being a bit much, removing might be enough. If someone is making you uncomfortable or you need a clean break, blocking is the way to go.
Can You Unblock?
Yes. You can unblock someone through your Settings. But just like removing a friend, unblocking doesn't restore your old Streak or any previous interaction history. You'd be starting fresh if you decide to reconnect.
