Sometimes you need someone completely out of your Buddzy experience. Maybe it is someone who makes you uncomfortable, an ex you would rather not see, or just a person you do not vibe with anymore. Whatever the reason, Buddzy's blocking feature is designed to give you a total social blackout — not a half-measure, not a mute, but a complete disappearance from every context in the app.
How It Works
When you block someone on Buddzy, the following happens immediately:
- They vanish from your Galaxy — Their planet is removed from your solar system entirely
- You vanish from theirs — Your planet disappears from their Galaxy too
- Rankings are cleaned — They are removed from all your leaderboards and you from theirs
- Streaks are terminated — Any active Streak between you two ends instantly
- Star history is hidden — Past Star exchanges between you become invisible to both parties
- Friend connection is severed — The mutual friendship is completely dissolved
- No discovery — They cannot find you through contact matching or any other feature, and you cannot find them
What "Total Blackout" Really Means
A lot of apps have weak blocking features where the person can still see your profile, show up in search results, or appear in shared group contexts. Buddzy does not play those games. When you block someone, it is as if neither of you exists in the other's version of Buddzy. There is no trace, no ghost, no "this user is unavailable" message. Just nothing.
What the Blocked Person Sees
The blocked person receives no notification that they have been blocked. From their perspective, you simply stop appearing in their app. There is no alert, no error message, and no way for them to confirm whether they have been blocked or whether you deleted your account. This protects you from any potential confrontation.
Is Blocking Reversible?
Yes, you can unblock someone later if you change your mind. However, unblocking does not automatically restore your friendship, Streaks, or any previous data. You would need to add each other as friends again and rebuild everything from scratch.
Pro Tips
- Block first, think later. Your peace of mind is more important than being polite about it.
- Combine blocking with reporting if the person's behavior warrants it. Both actions can be taken from the same profile screen.
- Blocking is private. Nobody except you knows you blocked someone.
