Sometimes friendships change, and that's okay. If you need to remove someone from your friend list on Buddzy, you absolutely can. But before you hit that button, it's worth knowing exactly what happens — because unfriending has real consequences in the Buddzy universe.
How It Works
Removing a friend is straightforward:
- Tap on their planet in your Galaxy, or find their name anywhere in the app.
- Open their profile.
- Look for the remove/unfriend option.
- Confirm your decision.
Once confirmed, the removal is immediate and mutual. They disappear from your Galaxy, and you disappear from theirs.
What Gets Lost
Here's the part that matters. When you remove a friend, several things happen:
- Your Streak together breaks — Any active Streak between you two is gone. No matter how many days you had stacked, it resets to zero. There's no way to recover it.
- Stars history — The Stars you've exchanged don't get refunded or reversed. Stars already given stay given, but you won't be able to exchange Stars with them anymore.
- Leaderboard impact — They no longer appear on your friend-based leaderboards, and you vanish from theirs.
- Galaxy removal — Their planet disappears from your Galaxy entirely, and yours disappears from theirs.
- No notification — The other person doesn't get a notification that you removed them. They'll just notice you're no longer in their Galaxy.
Can You Re-Add Them?
Yes. If you change your mind later, you can always add the person back using any of the standard friend-adding methods (username search, QR code, referral link, or contacts import). However, your previous Streak and history won't come back. You're starting from scratch as far as the friendship metrics go.
Pro Tips
- Think twice before removing someone you have a long Streak with. Those days don't come back.
- If the issue is that someone's annoying rather than harmful, consider muting their notifications instead of unfriending.
- If you need stronger action than just removing, check out blocking — it's a more complete separation.
- Removing someone is silent. No drama, no alerts. Just a clean break.
Good to Know
Removing a friend is different from blocking. Removing simply disconnects you, while blocking adds a layer of protection that prevents the person from finding you or interacting with you at all. If you need that extra level of separation, blocking is the move.
