Buddzy speaks your language — literally. With support for over 10 languages, you can use the app in whatever feels most natural to you. Switching is quick and painless, and the entire interface updates to match your selection.
How It Works
Here's how to change your language:
- Open Settings — Tap the gear icon in the bottom-right.
- Go to Display — Find the Display section in your settings menu.
- Tap Language — You'll see a list of all available languages.
- Select your preferred language — Tap the one you want.
- Restart the app — Close Buddzy completely and reopen it. Your new language will be active immediately.
That's all there is to it. The entire interface — menus, buttons, notifications, and system messages — switches over to your chosen language.
Supported Languages
Buddzy currently supports 10+ languages and the list keeps growing. The team actively adds new languages based on where users are playing. If your language isn't available yet, it might show up in a future update.
What Changes (and What Doesn't)
When you switch languages, here's what updates:
- All UI elements — Menus, buttons, labels, section headers.
- System messages — In-app notifications and alerts.
- Settings text — Everything in the Settings menu itself.
What stays the same:
- User-generated content — Your friends' display names, bios, and messages stay in whatever language they wrote them in. Buddzy doesn't auto-translate user content.
- Your own bio — If you wrote your bio in English and switch to Spanish, your bio text stays in English. You'd need to manually update it.
Pro Tips
- If you're learning a new language, switching Buddzy to that language is a fun low-stakes way to practice. You already know where everything is, so the context clues help you learn vocabulary naturally.
- The restart requirement is just a quick close-and-reopen. It takes about 5 seconds, not a full reinstall or anything heavy.
- You can switch languages as often as you want. There's no limit or cooldown.
- If something looks weird after a language switch, try a full app restart (force close and reopen) to make sure everything renders properly.
Good to Know
Language settings only affect the Buddzy app interface. Push notifications from your operating system might still appear in your phone's default language depending on how your device is configured. Buddzy handles what it can — your phone handles the rest.
