When you create a Challenge, you can tag it with a category to give friends a heads-up about what kind of response you're looking for. Categories are optional, but they make your Challenge clearer and help it get discovered on the Trending page.
The 6 Categories

On the Trending page, public Challenges can be filtered by category, making it easy to find exactly the type of content you're looking for. If you want your Challenge to get more forks from strangers, picking the right category helps it reach the right audience.
