Not every Challenge needs to last a full day. Sometimes the best moments happen in a burst of ten chaotic minutes. That's why Buddzy gives you four different duration options when you create a Challenge. Each one hits differently depending on your crew's vibe and availability.
How It Works
When you're setting up a Challenge, you'll pick one of these four timers:
- Flash (10 minutes) — The speed run. Everyone needs to be online right now. Flash Challenges are pure adrenaline — you see the prompt, scramble to create something, and submit before the clock runs out. This is the move when your whole group is hanging out simultaneously.
- Quick (1 hour) — A little breathing room, but still urgent. Perfect for when most of your crew is around but needs a few minutes to cook up something good. The pressure is still real.
- Standard (12 hours) — The sweet spot for mixed schedules. Friends in different time zones or with different routines can still participate without feeling rushed. You get quality submissions when people have time to think.
- Default (24 hours) — The full day. This is your best bet for asynchronous groups where people check in at different times. Everyone gets a fair window to participate, no matter when they open the app.
Choosing the Right Duration
The duration you pick has a massive impact on the energy of your Challenge. Here's how to think about it:
- If everyone is online and vibing together, go Flash. The chaos of a 10-minute scramble creates moments you'll talk about for weeks.
- If it's a weekend afternoon and your group is loosely active, Quick keeps things snappy without being stressful.
- If you're launching a Challenge before bed and want replies by morning, Standard is your friend.
- If your crew spans multiple time zones or has unpredictable schedules, Default makes sure nobody gets left out.
Pro Tips
- Flash Challenges work amazingly well when you're all physically together. Drop one at a party or hangout and watch the room explode.
- Don't use Flash if half your group is probably asleep. You'll end up with too few submissions and might not even hit the minimum participation threshold.
- Standard and Default are best for prompts that need real effort, like video Challenges where people need time to set up and film.
Good to Know
The timer starts the moment you publish the Challenge. There's no pausing or extending it once it's live. When the deadline hits, the Gallery reveal triggers automatically and all submissions become visible at once.
