Choosing the photo
This is the decision that makes or breaks the round. You want a photo where something is identifiable but not obvious — a place, an activity, a moment that a friend who knows you could recognise from a fragment.
Photos that work:
- A corner of a room that is unmistakably yours
- A view someone has seen on your stories a hundred times
- A hand doing something specific
- A scene with one strong giveaway detail buried in it
Photos that fall flat: anything so generic it could be anyone's, and anything where the giveaway fills the frame. In the first case nobody can guess; in the second, everybody guesses instantly and rank comes down to who opened it fastest.
Picking a framing
You do not write your own question. You choose one of five fixed framings, and that framing is what your friends are answering. See The Five Prompt Types for how to match one to your photo.
Writing the answer
Short and plain beats clever. Up to 100 characters, but you rarely need them all. "My grandmother's kitchen" is a good answer. "The place where the vibes are immaculate" is not — your friends have to pick it out of a list of six, and they should recognise it when they see it.
The decoys
AI generates five wrong answers based on your photo and your real one. You can edit any of them, and regenerate the whole set up to three times if they do not feel right.
This is worth spending thirty seconds on. Bad decoys give the answer away; good ones make friends stop and think. See Writing Good Decoys.
Duration
1 to 24 hours. Short rounds feel urgent and get fewer players; long ones get everyone but lose the buzz.
A rough guide: pick a few hours if your friends are all awake and around, and closer to 24 if you want the whole group to get a shot at it.
Who plays
Defaults to all your friends. You can narrow it from the summary page — the same Send to control you already know from Challenges and Lore Quizzes, in the same place.
You need at least 2 invited friends.
Before it goes live
Your photo and every answer are checked for safety before the Reveal is published. If the photo cannot be cleared, creation is blocked rather than published with a warning. See Safety and Reporting.
One last thing you will notice
On the creation screen your own photo appears partly covered rather than as a plain thumbnail. That is deliberate — you are seeing the game your friends are about to get, so you can tell whether it is actually guessable before you spend the Orbs.
