Safety and Reporting

Every photo and answer is checked before a Reveal goes live. If the check can't reach a clear verdict, it's blocked — not published with a warning.

Reveal is the only game in Buddzy where you send a photograph to a group of people. That gets treated seriously.

Checked before it goes live

Both the photo and every answer — yours and all five decoys — are checked for safety before a Reveal is published.

If the photo cannot be verified as safe, creation is blocked outright. The Reveal is not published with a warning, not hidden behind a tap, not shown to a smaller group. It simply does not exist.

An unclear verdict counts as a refusal

This is the part worth understanding, because it occasionally means a perfectly innocent photo gets refused.

If the safety check cannot be completed at all — the service is unreachable, or answers in a way the app cannot read — the content is treated as unsafe rather than published.

The reasoning is simple: a check that cannot see anything is not evidence that everything is fine. Buddzy would rather block something harmless than publish something harmful because a service was having a bad minute.

If you hit this, try again in a few minutes. The same rule applies to Challenge prompts, quiz content and Bud Bomb messages.

Reporting a Reveal

If a photo is inappropriate, you can report it. Reports go straight to Buddzy admins for review.

Two things are worth knowing:

  • Only the host and the invited friends can report a Reveal. The same people who can see the photo — nobody else can report something they were never shown.
  • Reporting the same Reveal twice does nothing extra. A second report from you does not add weight or escalate anything.

That second rule exists so reporting cannot be used as a weapon. Nobody can bury a friend's game by mass-reporting it, and a report is never a way to get something taken down by volume.

What to report

Report a photo that is genuinely inappropriate — anything sexual, violent, hateful, or that exposes somebody who did not consent to being posted.

Do not report a photo because the round was too hard, because the decoys were unfair, or because you lost. Those are not safety issues and reviewing them wastes time that belongs to real reports.

Photos of other people

Worth saying, because the game encourages posting real life: if your photo has someone else in it, think about whether they would be happy with your friend group seeing it and guessing about it.

Buddzy's safety check looks for harmful content. It cannot tell whether the person in your photo agreed to be in it. That part is on you.

Blocking

If a specific person is the problem rather than a specific photo, blocking them stops the whole relationship — including their games reaching you. See Blocking Users.

Your own photos

A photo you upload to a Reveal is shown to the friends you invited, and to nobody else. It is not public, not searchable, and never appears on a share card — see Sharing a Reveal.
