Challenge Links

Challenge links are smart deep links that drop your friends directly onto the submit screen. One tap and they're competing.

You've created an epic Challenge and you need your friends to actually participate. Instead of telling them to open Buddzy, navigate to Challenges, find yours, and figure out how to submit — you just send them a Challenge link. One tap and they land directly on your Challenge's submit screen, ready to go. Zero friction, maximum participation.

How It Works

When you create a Challenge in Buddzy, the app generates a unique deep link specifically for that Challenge. This isn't just a regular URL that opens the app's home screen. It's a smart link packed with metadata that tells the app exactly where to take the person who taps it.

Here's the flow:

  1. You create a Challenge and get your Challenge link
  2. You share the link via WhatsApp, text, Instagram DM, or wherever
  3. Your friend taps the link
  4. Buddzy opens directly to your Challenge's submit screen
  5. They see the prompt, understand the format, and can submit immediately

No hunting through menus, no searching for your Challenge, no confusion about what to do. The link handles all the navigation automatically.

The Smart Link Experience

Challenge links use the same smart link system that powers all of Buddzy's sharing features. They open the Buddzy app natively — no browser redirect, no intermediary webpage. It's seamless and instant.

If the person tapping your link doesn't have Buddzy installed yet, the link still works. It takes them to the app store first, and after they install and complete onboarding, the app remembers the Challenge context and drops them right where they need to be.

Why Challenge Links Matter

Participation is the lifeblood of Challenges. A Challenge with only two submissions isn't nearly as fun as one with eight. Challenge links remove the single biggest barrier to participation — the effort of finding and navigating to the right screen. By sending a direct link, you're making it as easy as humanly possible for your friends to join in.

Pro Tips

  • Send Challenge links individually rather than just posting them in a group chat. Personal invitations feel more meaningful and get higher response rates.
  • Include a teaser with your link. Something like "I dare you to beat my submission on this one" creates instant competitive energy.
  • Share the link as soon as you create the Challenge. The earlier people see it, the more time they have to submit before the deadline.
  • If your Challenge allows multiple response formats, mention that in your message so people know they have options.

Good to Know

Challenge links are specific to a single Challenge. Once that Challenge ends, the link becomes inactive and won't navigate anywhere meaningful. So don't save them for later — Challenge links are meant to be shared and used while the Challenge is live and accepting submissions.
