How It Works
The All-Time leaderboard cumulates every single Star you have ever received since the day you created your Buddzy account. Every Star from friends, every Star earned and sent your way, they all get added to this running total. It is like a lifetime score that reflects your entire history on the app.
It Never Truly Resets
Unlike the Current Orbit standings that goes back to zero every 14 days, the All-Time board never gets a hard reset. Your score is always building on what came before. A player who has been active for six months will naturally have a higher All-Time score than someone who just started last week, assuming consistent engagement.
But There Is Decay
Here is the plot twist. While the All-Time leaderboard never resets to zero, it does get reduced by 10 percent at the end of every Current Orbit cycle. This is called Decay, and it applies to every single player universally. Nobody is exempt. If you have 1000 All-Time Stars at the end of a cycle, you will start the next one with 900.
Why Decay Exists
Decay keeps things actually competitive. If you stop playing, your All-Time score erodes — 10 percent every two weeks. And if someone who dominated early on goes inactive, you can climb past them. Show up consistently and you can take on players with way more history than you.
The Consistency Game
Climbing the All-Time leaderboard is a marathon, not a sprint. You cannot just have one amazing week and coast. The 10 percent Decay means you need to consistently receive enough Stars to outpace the reduction. Think of it like running on a treadmill: you need to keep moving just to stay in place, and you need to go even faster to actually gain ground.
Strategy for All-Time
Focus on building strong reciprocal relationships. Friends who consistently send you Stars day after day are your All-Time fuel. It is better to have 5 friends who send you 3 Stars daily than 1 friend who occasionally drops a big batch. Consistency beats intensity on this leaderboard every time.
