Giving Stars is the core action in Buddzy. It is how you tell a friend they matter, how you pull their planet closer in your Galaxy, and how every other system in the app gets fed. It takes about four seconds. Here is the whole thing.
Where to start
There are two doors into the same room:
- From your Galaxy — tap a friend's planet to open their card, then hit Give
- From their profile — hit Give Star in the action bar at the bottom
Both open the exact same star-giving screen. Nothing to relearn between them.
Building your gift
On the giving screen, your friend is the star of the show — big avatar, front and centre. Tap their avatar to add a Star. Tap again for another. Each one lands with a spark and a sound, and they pile up into a visible stack so you can see what you are about to send.
There is no dropdown, no number picker, no "choose an amount" step. You tap until it feels right.
How many can you send? As many as you are holding. The only limit is your balance — if you have 30 Stars, you can send 30 in one go.
The synergy meter
While you build, watch the meter. It is showing you what this gift does to the friendship:
- If your friend has given you more than you have given them, the meter climbs as you add Stars — you are catching up
- If you are already the bigger giver, it celebrates that instead
It never shows you going backwards. This is a friendship, not a scoreboard.
Adding a Flair
Once your gift reaches 5 Stars, you can attach a Flair for 1 Orb. It turns your Stars into a priority notification, so your friend actually notices instead of finding it later in a list. Optional, but it lands differently.
Sending
Hit Send. The whole batch goes at once — the Stars fly from your sun across to your friend's planet, and the planet drifts a little closer to you. That closer orbit is permanent, and it is visible to anyone who visits your Galaxy.
Your friend is notified straight away.
Your Star Giver level
Above your wallet on the giving screen, you will see your Star Giver level — which tier you are on, how far into it you are, and what the next one is called. It ticks down live as you build your gift, so you can watch yourself close in on the next rank before you have even hit Send.
One thing Stars do not do
Giving Stars does not keep a Streak alive. Streaks have their own dedicated fidelity button on your friend's profile. It is a separate action, on purpose — a Streak is about showing up daily, not about volume.
Pro tips
- Give when you open the app. Not on a schedule — just make it the thing you do first.
- Spread it around. Ten Stars to one friend and one Star to ten friends do very different things to your Galaxy.
- Use Flair for the moments that deserve it. Every gift being a priority notification means none of them are.
