Your Star wallet is the pool you spend from when you give Stars to friends. It fills on its own in the background, and it fills faster the more you actually play. There is one rule about it that almost everyone gets wrong, so let's clear it up first.
The 12 is not a wallet limit
You get 1 Star every 4 hours, automatically, without doing anything. That trickle keeps going until you are holding 12 Stars, at which point it takes a break. Spend back below 12 and it starts right up again.
That is the whole rule. The 12 caps the trickle, not your wallet. Your wallet itself has no ceiling. Every other Star source stacks on top of it, and plenty of them push you way past 12 — a single Founders Pack drops 20 Stars into your wallet on its own.
Nothing is ever lost
This matters, because it changes how you should play. When the trickle pauses at 12, those Stars are not disappearing into the void. There is no overflow, no leak, no penalty for logging in late. The tap simply turns off, waits, and turns back on the moment you have room.
So if you go away for a weekend, you come back to 12 Stars and a paused trickle. You did not lose anything. You just did not gain as much as someone who was spending.
Where the rest comes from
The trickle is the slow, steady floor. The real volume comes from everything else:
- Daily Chest — 3 Stars plus a bonus that grows with your friend count
- Missions — two per day, Stars each
- Founders Pack — 20 Stars in one go
- Inviting friends — 5 when they sign up, 3 more when they start giving
- Coming back after a while — a 10 Star catch-up bonus
None of these care about the 12. They all land on top.
Giving is the only thing that empties it
Stars leave your wallet one way: you give them to a friend. Send 5 to someone and your balance drops by 5. There is no expiry, no decay on your own balance, and no way to lose Stars you are holding.
When you give, the only limit is what you actually have. Holding 30? You can send 30 in one go if you want to.
So what should you actually do?
Check in often — not to avoid losing anything, but because a paused trickle is a trickle that is not working for you. If you are sitting at 12 all day, that is roughly 6 Stars you could have collected and given away instead.
The habit that works: give Stars whenever you open the app. Morning, lunch, evening, whenever. Keep the tap running and the friends in your Galaxy get pulled closer.
One thing that does not fill your wallet
Winning a Challenge, placing in a Reveal, or acing a friend's Lore Quiz does not top up your giveable balance. Those Stars come from the host, through your friendship — they raise how many Stars you have received and strengthen that specific bond. They are not Stars you can then spend on someone else. The only spendable thing a game hands you is Orbs.
