Accrual is the part of your Star income that happens whether you show up or not. It is quiet, it is slow, and it is the piece people most often misunderstand. Here is exactly how it behaves.
How the trickle works
One Star lands in your wallet every 4 hours. No app open, no action needed. It keeps going until your balance reaches 12, then it pauses. Spend down to 11 and it resumes on the next tick.
That is a pause, not a loss. The Stars are not being thrown away while you are at 12 — the tap is just closed. Nothing about accrual punishes you for being away; it simply stops paying you while you are already holding plenty.
The 12 is not your wallet's limit
Worth repeating because it changes everything: 12 is where the trickle stops, not where your wallet stops. Your balance can go far above it. Missions, the Daily Chest, invites, a Founders Pack — all of them stack on top, and none of them are blocked by the 12.
An active player is regularly holding 20, 30 or more Stars. That is normal, not a bug.
What it's actually worth
At 1 every 4 hours, a full day of accrual is 6 Stars — if you spend often enough to keep the tap open. Sit at 12 all day and you collect nothing.
Put that next to everything else and you can see its real place:
| Source | Per day, roughly |
|---|---|
| Accrual | up to 6 |
| Daily Chest | 3 + friendship bonus (up to +5) |
| Missions | 2 missions' worth |
Accrual is the floor. It is not the point.
The habit that matters
You do not need reminders or a schedule. You need one reflex: give Stars whenever you open the app. A single Star to one friend is enough to restart the trickle, and it does something for that friendship too.
The players who get the most out of accrual are not the ones who optimise it. They are the ones who are in the app anyway, giving Stars, because that is the actual game.
Good to know
Accrual is the only Star source that requires nothing from you. Everything else — the Chest, Missions, invites, games — asks you to do something first. That is deliberate: the trickle exists so a quiet week still leaves you with something to give when you come back.
