Just like the other leaderboards, Popularity is completely private. Only your mutual friends can see your ranking. There is no public Popularity score, no way for strangers to see how you rank, and no global leaderboard. It stays between you and the people in your circle.
How to Climb Popularity
The strategy here is all about breadth. You want to be the kind of friend who gives Stars to everyone, not just your top 3 closest people. When you spread Stars across your entire Galaxy, friends tend to reciprocate. If you consistently give Stars to 10 or 15 friends daily, chances are most of them will send Stars back your way, boosting your Popularity score.
The Social Thermometer
Popularity is honestly the most authentic leaderboard in Buddzy. You can game orbits with strategic timing. You can build All-Time through sheer consistency. But Popularity? You actually have to be liked by a lot of people. It reflects genuine social standing within your friend group, and that is hard to fake.
Popularity vs Other Boards
A player can rank first on orbits but low on Popularity if all their Stars come from just one or two friends. Conversely, someone who ranks moderately on orbits might absolutely dominate Popularity because they are receiving Stars from almost everyone. Understanding this difference helps you decide where to focus your energy and which friendships to prioritize.
Building Broad Appeal
Be generous. Be consistent. Do not play favorites with your Stars. Open your Galaxy and send at least 1 Star to as many friends as you can every single day.
