Your daily window for sending Stars runs from midnight to midnight in your time zone, and your friend's window runs from midnight to midnight in their time zone. You are never penalized for being in a different part of the world from your friend. Each person is held to their own clock, not someone else's.
A Real World Example
Let us say you are in Paris, which is UTC+2, and your friend is in New York, which is UTC-5. That is a seven-hour difference. When it hits midnight in Paris and the system checks whether you sent a Star that day, it only looks at your actions within your local calendar day. Separately, when it hits midnight in New York, the system checks your friend's actions within their local calendar day. You could send your Star at 11 PM your time and your friend could send theirs at 8 AM their time. Both count. Both are valid. The system does not care that these happened at wildly different actual moments.
Why This Matters
