Buddzy has a Penalty system that lets you cancel Stars you have given, but it comes with important rules and consequences. What Is the Penalty System?
The Penalty system allows you to cancel Stars that you have previously given to a friend. Think of it as an undo button for your Star gifts. When you trigger a Penalty, the Stars you sent are removed from your friend's count, and your rankings adjust accordingly. It is a powerful tool, but it is not something to use lightly.
The 48-Hour Window
When you cancel Stars, the action is reversible for 48 hours. During this window, you can change your mind and undo the cancellation, effectively restoring the Stars to your friend. This grace period exists to prevent hasty decisions from having permanent consequences. Maybe you cancelled Stars in a moment of frustration but later regretted it. The 48-hour buffer gives you time to reconsider.
After 48 Hours
Once the 48-hour window closes, the cancellation becomes permanent. There is no going back, no appeals, and no way to restore those Stars. The recipient loses them from all leaderboard calculations, and the adjustment is final. This is why the system gives you that two-day cooling-off period. Use it wisely.
What Gets Affected
When you cancel Stars through the Penalty system, the recipient's rankings are reduced accordingly. Their All-Time score drops, their Current Orbit score drops if the Stars were received during the current cycle, and their Popularity metrics are adjusted. It is a real impact, not just a cosmetic change.
You Can Only Cancel Your Own Stars
This is important. You can only cancel Stars that you personally gave. You cannot cancel Stars that other people sent to someone. You also cannot cancel Stars that someone sent to you. The Penalty system is strictly limited to reversing your own giving decisions.
