Deleting your Buddzy account is a big decision, and the app treats it that way. It's not a one-tap action buried in settings — it's a deliberate process that goes through Support to make sure it's really what you want. Here's everything you need to know before you go down that road.
How It Works
Account deletion is handled through the support team. Here's the process:
- Go to Settings — Tap the gear icon.
- Tap Help — This takes you to the support options.
- Select Contact Support — Reach out to the Buddzy support team.
- Request account deletion — Let them know you want to permanently delete your account.
- Wait for processing — Deletion takes 3-7 business days to complete.
There's no self-service delete button in the app. This prevents accidental deletions and gives you time to reconsider.
What Gets Deleted
When your account is deleted, it's a comprehensive wipe. Here's what goes away:
- Friend connections — You're removed from every friend's Galaxy. You disappear from all their friend lists.
- Stars — All Stars you've received and your Star history are permanently erased.
- Streaks — Every Streak you had with every friend breaks and is deleted.
- Rankings — Your position on all leaderboards (Current Orbit, popularity, all-time) is removed.
- Achievements — Your Trophy Room, badges, titles, and all achievement progress are wiped clean.
- Profile data — Your avatar, display name, bio, Mood emoji, and all profile information are gone.
- Aura and level — Your entire Aura progression resets to nothing.
Can You Come Back?
Account deletion is permanent. If you create a new account later with the same phone number, you're starting from scratch. None of your previous data or progress carries over.
Before You Delete
Consider these alternatives first:
- Take a break — Just stop opening the app. Your data is preserved for when you're ready to come back.
- Log out — Sign out and come back when you feel like it. Everything stays intact.
- Remove specific friends — If the issue is certain people, remove or block them instead of nuking your whole account.
Pro Tips
- If you have long Streaks or rare achievements, think carefully. Those can't be recovered once deletion goes through.
- The 3-7 day processing time gives you a window to change your mind. Contact Support again if you want to cancel the deletion.
- Make sure your friends know you're leaving if you want to say goodbye. Once deletion completes, you simply vanish from their Galaxy.
